Overview

On 31 August 2025, the team visited the Eastern Cancer Care & Hospice in Eravur as part of its annual commitment to supporting patients and strengthening healthcare initiatives. The visit combined direct financial assistance with an educational component aimed at building awareness among youth.

Why This Mattered

Cancer care institutions often rely on consistent community support to sustain daily operations and expand essential services. The hospice required assistance for meal provisions and for its planned “Medical Village” project. The visit aimed to respond to these needs while also educating members about cancer awareness, prevention, and community responsibility.

What We Did

  • Mobilized community and member contributions to raise financial support
  • Visited the hospice to formally hand over funds
  • Allocated support for two days of meal expenses
  • Contributed toward provisions linked to the hospice’s “Medical Village” land project
  • Conducted a cancer-awareness session for members
  • Coordinated transportation and visit arrangements

Immediate Impact

  • Rs. 70,000 provided to cover two days of meal expenses
  • Rs. 240,000 allocated toward provisions for the “Medical Village” initiative
  • Strengthened hospice operational capacity
  • Delivered practical cancer-awareness education to participants

Long-term Value

  • Supported expansion of future healthcare facilities through the “Medical Village” project
  • Encouraged informed and responsible health awareness among youth
  • Strengthened community engagement in healthcare-related initiatives
  • Reinforced a culture of collective humanitarian support

Financial & Material Transparency

**Total Funds Raised & Distributed:** Rs. 310,000 * Rs. 250,315 contributed by community members * Rs. 59,685 contributed by members **Allocation:** * Rs. 70,000 for two-day meal expenses * Rs. 240,000 toward provisions for the “Medical Village” project Additional expenses included transportation, visit arrangements, and session facilitation.
